YOUR CHOICES

Celebrants & ministers

Find the ideal celebrant or minister for your memorial service. Whether you’re looking for a multi-faith funeral, or a humanist celebration, we’ll help you find the perfect fit.

When it comes to the day of the funeral, the service is usually carried out by a celebrant or minister. This is the person that will hold the ceremony, pay tribute to your loved one’s life and introduce readings, hymns and prayers. This person may also deliver the eulogy.

Those wanting a traditional Christian funeral will often choose their local minister to deliver the service. It’s important to note that you don’t have to be a member of a church to have a Church of England minister officiate your funeral. Alternatively, many families choose to use a celebrant, a person who will lead your ceremony in a non-religious manner, honouring your loved one’s life in a thoughtful, special way.

There’s no one size fits all approach to funerals, and you have a lot of options and flexibility in choosing the right person to lead your service.  We will help you explore your options and find the perfect fit.
