    Help with payment

    If you’re having difficulty paying for a funeral, you might be able to access some financial support. Depending on your circumstances, this could be from the government, through third party organisations, or independent fundraising websites.

    • MoneyHelper

      MoneyHelper is a service provided by the Money & Pensions Service and gives you free advice on financial support, including options such as paying with the deceased bank account, or claiming funeral costs from the estate.

    • Funeral Expenses Payment

      You may be eligible to receive a Funeral Payment from the government. This payment can be used to pay for things like a burial plot, cremation fees or repatriating your loved one back to the UK. You can check to see if you meet the criteria at gov.uk. (using the link provided)

    • Just Giving

      Many families that are having difficulty paying for a funeral use crowdfunding websites like Just Giving. This platform allows you to raise contributions towards funeral costs, or to support the family of the deceased.
